Proper care helps your furniture stay beautiful and last longer. Below are general guidelines for the products we sell. Because materials vary, always check the specific product page for any additional care notes.

General Tips for All Furniture

  • Keep it out of direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure can fade finishes, fabrics, and leather.
  • Avoid extreme humidity. Aim for 40–60% relative humidity. Use a dehumidifier in damp climates and a humidifier in very dry ones.
  • Control temperature. Keep furniture away from radiators, fireplaces, and air conditioning vents.
  • Lift, don’t drag. When moving furniture, lift it rather than pulling it across the floor. This prevents scratches and loosens joints.
  • Use coasters and pads. Place coasters under drinks and felt pads under items that sit on surfaces.
  • Clean spills immediately. Blot — do not rub — with a clean, dry cloth.

Wood Furniture

  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap solution and a slightly damp cloth. Dry immediately.
  • Avoid silicone-based polishes, ammonia, and abrasive cleaners.
  • Use a coaster under hot or wet items. Heat and moisture can leave rings.
  • Re-oil or wax only if the manufacturer recommends it for that specific finish.

Upholstered Fabric

  • Vacuum regularly with a soft brush attachment to remove dust and crumbs.
  • Treat spills right away. Blot with a clean, white cloth. Do not rub.
  • For stains, use a mild upholstery cleaner. Test on a hidden area first.
  • Rotate cushions periodically to ensure even wear.
  • Keep pets’ claws trimmed to prevent snags and pulls.

Leather

  • Dust with a dry, soft cloth.
  • Clean with a leather-specific cleaner and condition according to the product instructions.
  • Keep leather away from direct heat and sunlight, which can cause drying and cracking.
  • Blot spills immediately. Do not use water or household cleaners unless specified.

Metal and Glass

  • Wipe metal with a soft, damp cloth. Dry immediately to prevent water spots.
  • Avoid abrasive sponges or cleaners that can scratch.
  • For glass, use a standard glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth.
  • Check screws and fittings periodically and tighten as needed.

What to Avoid

  • Harsh chemicals, bleach, ammonia, or abrasive powders
  • Scrubbing with rough sponges or brushes
  • Excessive water or steam cleaners (unless the product is rated for them)
  • Placing furniture in direct contact with damp floors or walls
